Benchtop ATX Power Supply

I have been getting into more DIY electronics, and I've been using a range of different hacky methods to power them. I had an old ATX PSU lying around from an old desktop system. I wouldn't use it in a PC any more as I would rather go for a branded model, but it works fine, so I decided to recycle it into my own benchtop power supply.

Using my new 3D printer, a Creality Ender 3 v2, I sketched out a circuit diagram and designed an enclosure for the new system.

The main features of the power supply are:

  • 12V fixed output, fused

  • 5V fixed output, fused

  • 3.3V fixed output, fused

  • Adjustable output 1.8 to 32V, fused

  • 2 x USB ports which are live when the PSU is on standby

  • Standby and power indicator LEDs

  • On/off switch

  • Screw-fit construction using threaded inserts

  • Non-slip rubber feet

I completed this project in March 2021, and it works great!
